Anushka Sharma in Shahrukh Khan - Katrina Kaif film?

YRF is set to bring together Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in a film. There is word that Anushka Sharma may also be cast in the movie.

Sources reveal that the second female lead in the film is a strong character, and a few days ago it was rumored that Kajol would be acting in the film. However, now sources reveal that the second lead in the film may indeed be Anushka Sharma, as the character needs to look younger than Katrina Kaif’s.

Anushka made her dream debut in Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and things have be go-go-go from there on. She has won both acclaim from critics and the audience, finding success with one film after the other.

This ‘yet to be titled’ film will mark the first directorial project Yash Chopra has undertaken since Veer Zaara in 2004, and if things pan out for Anushka, then this will not only mark her fifth time working with the YRF banner, but also make her the first actress to be directed by both father Yash and son Aditya Chopra.

There is no confirmation from YRF or Anushka about this development. The final casting of the yet untitled film remains to be announced. Nevertheless, this beauty from Bangalore is on her way to becoming the one of the most popular heroines.

Shahrukh-Salman face-off averted in IIFA Shahrukh to attend IIFA despite injury;

Shahrukh Khan has been limping from a knee injury lately. However, he’s not going to skip the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend in Toronto. On the other hand, Salman Khan has decided to skip the IIFA this year.

It could have been a clash of the titans in Toronto. Ignore the alliteration, but the coming together of the feuding Khans -- Shahrukh and Salman -- looked all but imminent until one of them decided to bow out.

Shahrukh Khan is excited about returning to IIFA after seven long years. Incidentally, he skipped the event all those years when Amitabh Bachchan was its brand ambassador. And now that Big B is not longer associated with the event, Shahrukh is going to attend it despite a knee injury.

“Preparing for iifa visit in toronto...on 24th meeting fans at sheraton...bollywood chick has full info...hope to see u all there..” Shahrukh wrote on his Twitter page. Earlier he had written about his knee injury: “nursing knee injury to get ready for iifa. wish toronto was closer to bandra. shiamk team making the dance steps easier for me...”

On the other hand, Salman Khan, who was the face of IIFA in Sri Lanka last year, has opted out. Whether it’s just a coincidence or a bid to avoid a face-off with Shahrukh, only Salman knows that. But the official reason is that salman is going to be busy shooting for his film ‘Bodyguard’?

“I am shooting for my next Bodyguard and it is an action movie, so yes, you people won't see me there (Toronto). IIFA will miss me this time,” Salman told reporters.

The IIFA weekend will be held from June 23 to 25.

Shahrukh Khan completes his autobiography

Shahrukh Khan’s tell-it-all story in his autobiography ‘Twenty Years In A Decade’

Here’s good news for the fans of Shahrukh Khan. Those who have been waiting to hear the tale of the superstar’s struggle and rise to fame will get to know it all in Shahrukh’s own words in his autobiography ‘Twenty Years In A Decade’.

Shahrukh Khan has been working on this book for about a decade and now the book is complete and ready for editing.

“I have written a book and its complete now. I will ask my writer friends to edit it so that I can release it. I have been writing it over last ten years. It is titled ‘Twenty Years In A Decade’ because I feel that in ten years I have lived a life of 20 years between 1991-2001. The book is about positivity, hope and it is also funny, just like me. I have written things about my life in the most fun way,” Shahrukh Khan is quoted as saying by a news agency.

For those who don’t know, 1991 is the year Shahrukh Khan entered Bollywood by acting in Raj Kanwar’s film Deewana which released in 1992 and went on to become a hit. Thereafter followed a slew of hit films that, over a decade, catapulted the bristle-haired dude of the telly serial Fauji to super stardom.

Though the autobiography chronicles Shahrukh’s struggle, he says his favourite chapter is about his parents.

“One of my favourite chapters in the book is which talks about my mother and father... which I completed in almost eight pages,” Shahrukh said.

The superstar also promises to reveal a lot of personal things in his autobiography.

“There are very personal things in it... though selective memories. Also, there is a chapter on journalism. I have also written about my personal things,” Shahrukh said.

Tired of action, Shahrukh Khan now wants to get romantic!

Shahrukh Khan built up his stardom with a slew of romantic roles but has lately been keeping away from what many believe to be his forté.

Jog your memory and try to recall the last time you saw Shahrukh Khan in a full-on romantic role! Em...!...Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi perhaps. But that was almost three years ago. Since then films like Billu Barber, Dulha Mil Gaya and My Name Is Khan have not sated the movie buff who wants to see Shahrukh epitomising romance on screen. And Shahrukh’s two coming films Ra.One and Don 2 too would have him doing kick-ass action, jumping from buildings, blowing up cars...anything but what sets the female fans go weak at the knees.

So quite obviously, Shahrukh Khan is now thinking of doing a full-fledged romantic movie again. Mind you, Shahrukh isn’t for playing a young college-going dude who woos the PYTs in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai style.

The 45-year-old actor says he wants to play his age and act in a mature love story, something that Bollywood isn’t really known to churn out. Majority of fans in India idolize their favourite actors as if they were never-aging demigods, facial lines notwithstanding. But Shahrukh Khan wants to change that.

“I want to do a mature love story. Or maybe even a comedy film now,” Shahrukh says.

A comedy is something we haven’t seen Shahrukh do in a long time. Om Shanti Om was his last shot at making us laugh.

Film media needs to balance its reporting: Shahrukh

Even though he shares a great rapport with the media, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is weary of how the media often twists his statements made in jest.
"My jokes, which are apparent, are blown out of proportion, and serious issues are trivialized," the actor said today.
"The live interactions with the media are great- I joke and reporters are aware of the fact when I am joking. But it takes on a different meaning when it comes out the next day. Comments and statements meant as jokes are taken seriously, and serious issues are trivialized. We need to find a balance," he said while launching Kanika Dhillon’s debut novel - Bombay Duck is a Fish (Westland)- here.
The actor said the entertainment media was running the risk being taken lightly by the public because of its sensationalistic journalism.
"I know it’s not just the reporters, there are editors along the chain before it comes out. But the film media- generally regarded as lightweight tabloid news- needs to invoke good reading and viewing for the media. Many writers in the film media are also serious writers," he said.
No one in Bollywood really has the time to bear grudges as everyone is too busy working, the actor explained. Clarifying recent media reports that he claimed to be the industry’s number one star, Khan said, "I had recently jokingly said my character G.One for my upcoming film Ra.One stood for my wife Gauri and my position as a star in the industry. It surprised me when my jokes were misconstructed in the media."

He said judging by the way the film media was desperately trying to create news of friction between stars, he might actually be tempted to start a new "fight".
"The differences I may have with others are old and the media are still trying to rake it up. I am not trying to be nice, I’m just a nice guy," he added.
