Shahrukh Khan back on Television

Shahrukh Khan earlier was seen hosting 'Kaun Banega Crorepati', replacing Amitabh Bachchan as the latter was ill. He was again seen hosting the show 'Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?' But now reportedly, Shahrukh will be seen in a new avatar with a new reality show. The show is the Indian version of hit 'Wipeout' series.

Reports suggests that the show will be aired on NDTV Imagine. Sameer Nair the head of the channel has got a nod from King Khan to proceed with the doings. Khan and Nair are close friends, which was even one of the reason behind SRK hosting KBC.

Finally the Badhshah of Bollywood will return to television. It looks like Bollywood has captured the Indian Television Zone. All the reality shows are roping in Bollywood Biggies to host to host or judge the show. While Abhishek Bachchan did a show for a channel, Priyanka Chopra hosted 'Fear Factor' recently. And of course, now we have Salman Khan hosting the super controversial 'Bigg Boss'.

The formal announcement is of the 'Wipeout' is still awaited. Some well-known faces of Bollywood and television world will take part in the show. The battle will be fought on Argentinean lands. 'Wipeout' has been filmed and aired by many other countries also.

But a special part of the show is that wherever the contestants may be from, the location never changes!

Shahrukh and Akshay to star together?

The friendship between Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar is growing stronger by the day. Recently, SRK praised Akshay Kumar for his upcoming project TEES MAAR KHAN, which is being directed by Farah Khan.

SHAHRUKH KHAN and AKSHAY KUMAR

According to reports, SRK is trying to mend fences with Farah and his growing friendship with Akshay is proving to be fruitful for that. SRK's open praise about Farah Khan's film is his way of sending the gestures of peace across.

Now, reports further suggest that the bonding between SRK and Akshay has reached a point where the two superstars are planning to produce a film together and chances are that they might also star in the same film.

Will not sell KKR to make a fast buck: Shahrukh Khan

Badshah of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan has no intention of selling his stake in his IPL cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders. In a rare interview with CNBC-TV18, Khan spells out the business plans for his company Red Chillies Entertainment.
Below is a verbatim transcript of his interview with CNBC-TV18's Swati Khandelwal.
Shahrukh Khan, Actor
Q: What are your plans for Red Chillies?
A: We started very small, but lately I have started thinking that I would go a little big in terms of film production at least. So far we have done normally at any good time one or maybe the second film kind of starting once we are finishing the first one. We have a bit of television going, we have advertising going, we have a good VFX unit. So we are in a way technologically a little advanced as far as the production side is concerned.
But creativity requires a lot of time as to what story content has to be. But this year we have set up a new office now. We have all the youngsters who have grown with the company who are all I guess itching to get into cinema, make films. I think now I feel the need to start making 4-5 films. When you make 4-5 films, the company has always run on ‘no profit, no loss’ kind of criteria to start off. If the film does well good but at least we don’t try to lose money.
But now with 5 films on the floor yes it will become a little unaffordable. But public, no. I think I am too busy with the creative aspects to really get into business in such a big way. But if I have guys in the office who would like to do it, it's their company, they can take it public.
Q: How big is the company at this point in time and how much investments have already gone into it?
A: It's got a very big heart. We have been working on it for what, around 7-8 years now, about 9 years we have been making films. We have made about 9 to 10 films. Some of them good, some of them fantastic, some of them pathetic.
A lot of investment has gone in. I don't know the exact figures. But what we have tried to do is we have never borrowed money. The money is essentially brought in perhaps sometimes personally and then we work towards making sure it is returned. So it is kind of debt free. If that makes any sense, I keep hearing people saying companies are good when they are debt free. So we don’t have any loans or debts. Everything that is invested in the company is personal and then been earned back as the years have gone by.
Q: Another company, KKR, the entity that’s doing reasonably good now, what's the plan really there? We were hearing about a possible stake sell, you may look at raising money through stake sell in that company. Is that true? What do you have to say on that?
A: I don’t know every time our team loses a match they say I am selling the company. So it has got nothing to do with the cricket part of it as far as the company is concerned.
We have to wait for the rules, what's happening now. There is a lot of unknown right now. So on the business front it is very clear KKR is owned by us, myself and Jay (Jay Mehta,) and Juhi (Juhi Chawla Mehta). We will keep it. We haven’t really sat down ever and thought of - I keep reading that we are selling our stake. But I have never really seriously ventured or thought about it.
If I ever do it then it would be not dumb money, it would be strategic money. I would like to do it with a sporting kind of a partner who knows more about sports instead of just making a fast buck. That's not what we are in the business in KKR for.

SRK’s Mannat is symbolic

In a unique initiative which can be seen very flattering as well as a nuisance for Shahrukh Khan,  an upcoming film Khichdi,  today had their first promotional event right outside Manat, the residence of the superstar.

Mannat has a small park opposite itself and the organizers have been able to get permission to hold the event there. Fox Star’s Khichdi first poster was unveiled.

The significance of doing the event in an open area outside SRK's residence is to mark the phenomenal success the actor has achieved on big screen after starting out as a TV actor.
Khichdi is India’s first TV series that is getting made into a film. The popular comic characters of the series would be staging this event to underline the fact that television stars can be successful on big screen too.
A lot of crowd gathered outside, expecting the man to step out. However SRK didn’t come and grace the occasion. Even after some time even the security of Mannat moved inside.
Cast and crew of Khichdi addressed media, unveiled the poster; “It’s symbolic. What Taj Mahal is to lovers, Shahrukh's house is the same for anyone moving from television to films... He is inspirational. We have not taken his permission though as we will be staging this at a public place which happens to be bang opposite his residence."
Cast Present were Aatish Kapadia, writer lyrics & director of Khichdi The Movie, Jamnadas Majethia (JD), producer & actor,  Anang Desai (Babuji),  Supriya Pathak (Hansa),  Praful and Jayshree.

My children are my harshest critics, says SRK

Describing his children as his harshest critics, Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan says he has become a better film actor thanks to them.
Writing in the magazine of The Mail on Sunday on "The Secrets of my success", Khan wrote, "Now I have kids, I enjoy them more than acting, but it's certain I've become a better film actor thanks to them as well.
"They're my harshest critics. They're honest and say things like, 'That's no good; you can do better.' If you appeal to their honesty, I think you can be a very good actor," he added.
With 70 films to his name, hundreds of millions of fans and 13 Filmfare awards, Bollywood's equivalent of Oscars, seven of his being for Best Actor, Khan can lay claim to the title of world's biggest film star, the report said.
As well as being a successful actor, producer and TV presenter, he has fronted the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, and owns the Kolkata Knight Riders, an IPL cricket team.

'My Name is Khan' Rs. 110 cr. India, Rs. 99 cr. Overseas

MY NAME IS KHAN, which was released in India on 12th February, 2010, is still making waves across the globe. Having raked in Rs. 110 crores in India, the film continues its march across global territories and has already grossed Rs. 99 crores in the International markets [still counting], according to an official statement issued by Fox Star Studios.

Post successful release in U.S., U.K., Middle East and Australia, MNIK continues to break records across Europe. MNIK has already become the most successful film in Europe with a box-office collection of US$ 5.6 million with 325 prints. The release width of 425 prints across just Europe is bigger than the release plan of any Bollywood film on a worldwide basis.

The film has the unique distinction of being the first Bollywood film to be dubbed and released theatrically in 4 European languages: Spanish, German, Russian and Italian. Currently, the film is playing across cinema halls in Germany and will release in Russia in September and Italy in November with more than 100 prints.

A number of factors have contributed to the astounding success of MNIK in the International markets, including:-

  • A separate edit for the mainstream markets by well-known editor Allan Bell, which is a first for an Indian film.
  • Country specific promotion plans with marketing investment across key countries.
  • Presence on mainstream promotion platforms including Jonathan Ross Show, BBC Asia network and BILD, Germany's largest newspaper and innovative promotions like first time ever Bollywood presence at the opening of the NASDAQ bell.
  • Red Carpet premiere at the Berlin Film Festival.

With MNIK, Fox Star Studios has opened up newer markets and delivered box-office numbers by creating new opportunities for Bollywood in markets hitherto unexplored. Some key milestones being:

  • No. 1 Bollywood film across Middle East, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, South Africa and other African markets.
  • Opened new markets across the world - a first for Bollywood: Puerto Rico, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, Taiwan, Italy, Spain, Russia.

Shahrukh Khan all set to paint

Shahrukh Khan an indisputable King of Bollywood is all set to paint now. Yes, SRK will now endorse Nerolac Paints.

The sources revealed that Shahrukh has been inked upon as an official brand ambassador and selectors think he fits in the bill completely. The selectors also cited international exposure- a reason behind the selection.

Shahrukh has endorsed numerous brands so far from soft drinks to cars and certainly rings a bell with yet another brand.

Shahrukh Khan explains: How he lost weight for Ra. One

If Aamir Khan flaunted his trimmed and toned down body for ‘3 Idiots’, then Shahrukh Khan shed oodles of pounds for Ra. One. But unlike Aamir’s case, it wasn’t a conscious effort on his part. This is how SRK lost weight:
In a press conference, Shahrukh (who is stepping into superhero genre for the 1st time in his near 20 year long career) dished out a bit about his film Ra. One which is in the pipeline currently and spoke of his experience while filming it.

Flashing a skinnier look, he explained that one of the reasons he was looking leaner was the superhero suits that he had to wear for the shoot. The suits, made from silicon and rubber, were extremely uncomfortable and made him feel extremely hot and choked up. Besides, the weather in Mumbai as well as in London was quite sultry and the heat was searing despite the modern day boon of air conditioners. SRK also explained that he had to wear a skiing suit inside which the skiers wear to protect them from cold. In such unpleasant weather and conditions, wearing the superhero costume (for 8-9 hours incessantly) made SRK lose weight.
Hopefully, the film Ra. One would be a box office success and the weight-loss would be worth it…… (ENSNN)

Lara all set to impress Shahrukh Khan

Lara Dutta seems to be all set to impress King Khan, after all who doesn’t want to be in good books of Shahrukh. Actually, the actress is the new entrant in the sequel of Farhan Akhtars’ Don which has SRK and Priyanka Chopra in the lead role. So, the gorgeous actress is leaving no stone unturned to match up with the style which the movie demands off. She is nowadays experimenting with her looks with Farhan who will eventually take the final call.

“Look-test went well. I tried out four different options. Will now, decide on the final look with Farhan. Was pretty happy though,” exclaims Lara on the micro-blogging site. It may be recalled here; Lara recently had attended workshops for the same movie and now is so particular about her looks.

Shahrukh Khan: The nervous King Khan to influence ‘Everyone under the Sun’ with wife Gauri!!

Now, who would’ve thought that Shahrukh Khan the man who must have faced the camera at least a zillion times, would get nervous shooting for a commercial?
Well, the fact is that even a super star like SRK can get nervous! At least that’s what the star would like us to believe!
As all his fans know by now, the star is fond of the micro blogging site twitter, and keeps all of us informed well, about the latest going -ons in his life, via this medium.
So, while his wife Gauri has just got back to Mumbai from Delhi, where she was visiting her parents, as her dad is recovering from a heart ailment, the couple was scheduled to shoot for an ad, for a big home furnishing Brand!
Now, as things were being arranged for during the week-end shoot, SRK, who was a bit nervous, according to his own admission, mentioned it on his twitter too.
Here’s what Shahrukh had posted “Preparing for a big shoot 2 morro. No, it’s not ra.one with ten cameras. It is with Gauri for D décor brand furnishings……very nervous.”
Now, as most of us know by now that, SRK and wife Gauri have been roped in for the first time ever, to do an endorsement, it certainly is going to be one ad which many modern couples would relate to.
There are reports that the authorities of the ‘D décor Brand of furnishings’ are trying to make people aware of how some great furnishings, can entirely change one’s home into a very high fashionable and stylish one!
Well, seems like this is one commercial which will influence  ‘everyone under the Sun’.After all, who doesn’t want a stylish home??

The Hindustani Dil of Shah Rukh Khan

Our Bollywood stars leave no opportunity to be eloquent about their patriotism. They fight for justice, protest against iniquities and stand up against terrorism on screen for the sake of their country and countrymen. In real life too, they don’t shy away from expressing their sentiments for the motherland. Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan has recently gone gaga over his love for the nation.

Vocal about his nationality, King Khan wrote in a tweet that he is half Pathan from his dad’s side and half Hyderabadi from his mom’s side. He is somewhat Kashmiri from his grandma’s side. Born in Delhi, he lives in Mumbai. His wife is a Punjabi. In addition, he also belongs to Kolkata through India Premier League team. What the tweet of the superstar conveys more is that he is a true Indian at heart.

The 44-year-old actor is now busy shooting at the Ramoji Rao Filmy City in Hyderabad. He had shot here for Badshah about twelve years ago. When asked about his feelings on this trip to the city after a long period of time, Shahrukh said that he felt nostalgic.

No doubt, the dil of our King Khan is plain and simple Hindustani.

Shahrukh Khan: ‘The Style statement!’

Shahrukh Khan, the king of bollywood, as he is very popularly known as, is one of the biggest style icons that our film industry can boast of!
Recent reports suggesting that SRK has called himself the most unstylish guy seem to suggest that the super star is just to humble, and not one to blow his own trumpet!
Well, Shahrukh may be aware that his style and designer accessories are always a rage with the youth of the entire globe, and yet, his statement being one of the most humble of people, does speak a lot about his down to earth stance in life.
It may be appreciated here that Shahrukh Khan has always been the inspiration for all college going kids as well as the middle aged men, who love to dress casual and yet manage to look cool and classy at all events.
As SRK’s love for white T- shirts and blue denims is well known, so are his formal tuxedos, with his black bow tie, or red, depending on the occasion, and Shahrukh’s mood perhaps, have all been definite style statements made by the star, and followed by zillions of fans all over the world!
Even his accessories. Like the reading glasses he uses, (which SRK has a good collection of, with various shades to add color), his sneakers, his stubble, have become absolute rage amongst all his fans.
However, whatever ever is Shahrukh’s style, one thing’s for sure, Shahrukh Khan is one of the most stylized stars of contemporary India, no wonder, in spite of having the common man’s look, Shahrukh can carry himself with utmost ease, charm, confidence and charisma at any International arena with a full ‘10 on 10’!

Endhiran has a secret connection with Ra.One

Endhiran RA OneWell anything can happen in the Indian film industry Bollywood and the latest to add to this non challenging belief is the small connection between two big movies Ra.One which is a Shahrukh Khan film and the another one is the Robot which is a film starring Aishwarya and Rajinikanth together for the first time.
According to the sources in the beginning the title Robot was owned by Red Chillies which is a Shahrukh khan owned venture and he was chosen to be the part of this film which was been directed by Shanker.
For both the Bollywood biggies, this was a dream project and therefore they were working together extensively to turn it into a beautiful reality on the screen but then due to difference in approach they had to choose different ways and therefore separated. After this initial tiff, the director went ahead with the famous actor from the south Rajnikanth and the king khan started working on his own venture calling it Ra.one.
When Shahrukh Khan moved forward with his project then at that time the director Shankar felt the need to use the same title for which he wrote to Shahrukh Khan and the king khan in all his generosity, agreed for it.

Shahrurkh's father-in-law suffers heart attack

It’s a very critical time for Shahrukh Khan and his family. Gauri Khan’s father RP Chhiba was admitted to hospital following a heart attack. He was admitted to a hospital in Delhi. No sooner Shahrukh Khan and Gauri Khan heard the news; they rushed to Delhi to be his side.
A reliable source, close to the Khan family, confirmed the news, “Shah Rukh Khan’s father-in-law was immediately admitted to a hospital in Delhi. His condition was critical when he was taken to the hospital”.
Shahrukh is very close to his father-in-law and the news of his ill health has really distressed both King Khan and Gauri. However, Gauri’s father’s condition is reportedly better now. “Mr Chhiba is recovering. Both Shah Rukh and Gauri are there with him in Delhi,” adds the source.
We wish Gauri’s father a speedy recovery!

Katrina Kaif falls into Shahrukh Khan’s lap in The Opium Symphony?

Salman Khan may not be too happy after reading this. Even a certain Ranbir Kapoor may be a tad miffed and I am not sure of an Akshay Kumar. In what sounds like a block buster idea, the hottest Bollywood belle may fall into the lap of the King of Romance Mr. Shahrukh Khan.
Reportedly, film maker Vijay Singh is contemplating a period piece with the cast of SRK as the Awadh king and Katrina as the British lady. The film is titled The Opium Symphony and is loosely inspired from the pages of Whirlpool of Shadows penned by him.
Singh plans to cast SRK as the royal king Nawab Naseeruddin Haidar and Katrina as his lady love. Though, nothing has been finalised yet, Singh is keeping his fingers crossed. He cites with a tinge of excitement reminiscent of a runaway school boy, “I had met Shah Rukh regarding the movie and he had liked the idea. I am planning to approach him again for the role of the Nawab. He ruled Awadh from 1826-36 and fell in love with a British girl but their love did not suit the interest of opium traders at that time.”
Though, Singh was earlier intent on casting a Hollywood actress, now, he has his eyes on the Princess of Popcorn, the resplendent Katrina Kaif. It needs to be seen if SRK-Katrina pair shall come aboard or not…..

Shahrukh Khan: The latest in King Khan’s life!

It’s been quite some time now since the King of bollywood, Shahrukh Khan, has almost disappeared from the scene and thus from most gossip columns!
This is due to the fact that SRK is right now in London, as his home production flick, ‘RA. ONE’, is on a full on shooting spree! Well, Shahrukh, who is taking no chances in leaving a single scene with just simple effects, he just wants the best for every scene that is shot! The  latest in King Khan’s life is thus quite a story!
However, his more than perfect attitude in doing the best and only the best, also made him call for his best friend Karan Johar to do a romantic scene for his flick.
Now, with such dedicated efforts from him and his entire team, there is really no time, for the cast and crew of his flick to go and enjoy the delicacies from outside.
Thus, reports are pouring in that his crew members get together and cook up some dish or the other so as to bring in a variety in the daily food.
On one such night , Shahrukh Khan, who is fond of the twitter, posted some very interesting information about the pasta he had just had then!
Shahrukh’s twitter said, “had great Italian dinner made by our cameraman. Our v fx department. Now into pasta production more than post production. Had a great time”
With this, SRK made it quite clear that while on outdoor shoots, he too becomes one of the unit members, and does not have any starry attitudes at all! We can’t help but say ‘Great going SRK!’
