Social game for RA.One

Almost every big-budget Bollywood film that has released over the past year saw a mobile or Internet game accompany it. Now actor-producer Shah Rukh Khan’s RA.One has launched a game that will be available across five platforms — social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter), iPads/iPhones,
Android, Nokia’s Ovi store and DTH. “We are trying to target the masses with brand Shah Rukh Khan,” says Vishal Gondal, CEO, UTV Indiagames, which has created the game that revolves around G.One (the superhero character played by Khan in the film) and his adventures. The game will be available for free download by the end of September or early October. However, any further micro-transactions (buying extra ammunition, powers) will cost the gamer anything from Rs. 5 to Rs. 100.
Gondal insists the storyline of the game will not be borrowed or similar to that of the movie. “That’s the differentiator. The game is not an extension of the film. The characters or dragons that G.One will be fighting will be different,” says Gondal, adding that the actor himself was involved in the game’s design. “It is a high-end gaming experience globally even for those who do not know Shah Rukh Khan. For those who do, it’s a bonus.”
Unlike most superhero franchises, whose films are popular due to comic books or graphic novels, RA.One is taking the opposite route. UTV India Games will create a digital comic book for the superhero. “We’re looking to launch a mobile application for a digital comic book that UTV Indiagames is currently working on,” says Shailja Gupta, digital and new media head, Red Chillies Entertainment. RA.One, which also stars Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor is expected to release this Diwali.

It is a buzz that Hrithik is also equally excited to see RA.One as he has loved the promos of the film and want to see the film as soon as possible.

The first screening of the movie will not happen at Mannat, as SRK thinks VFX and sound of the movie should be enjoyed in theatre only if you want to experience the best. Shahrukh sent a special message to VFX team of RA.One for congratulating them for the brilliant work done.

Really it will be amazing to see Krrish and G.One to enjoy the screening together!

Shahrukh backs anti-graft stir

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has said that the cause behind the agitation launched by Anna Hazare is so fantastic that it is beyond his capacity to comment.
He was addressing a press conference in kerala on Friday. He arrived here to inaugurate a five star hotel, The Raviz.

Mr. Khan said that everyone would agree that there should be no corruption in the country. “Corruption is the worst stigma a country can have. Corruption in the country has become so huge that we all support anti-corruption movements. But then there are so many aspects to it. It involves even Constitutional aspects. Now that the movement is on the streets we should ensure that it does not die.”

Sonakshi Sinha to romance Shahrukh

Seems like Salman’s discovery Sonakshi Sinha, who post her debut film ‘Dabangg’ is climbing the ladder of success a bit too fast, prefers career over friendship.
Well, of late, Tinsel town is abuzz that the one-film-old actress Sonakshi is gearing up to romance Salman’s archrival Shahrukh Khan in Abhinav Kashyap’s next.
Salman and Shahrukh’s rivalry is known to all, and by agreeing to share screen space with King Khan, the ‘Dabangg’ girl has shown that she has no reservations for working with her mentor’s foes.
Well, Sonakshi, it’s not good to change camps!
Sonakshi-Shahrukh starrer to be a romantic flick
Scuttlebutt has it that the Sonakshi-Shahrukh starrer imminent movie, to be helmed by Abhinav Kashyap, is going to be a romantic flick.
Talking about the film in question, an insider, as quoted in Mumbai Mirror, said, "Abhinav wants to move away from the rustic action genre of Dabangg to an urban love story in his next.
“It is an unusual love story about two people, who meet under extremely trying circumstances. Shah Rukh will play one of his most intensely romantic roles of his career.”
It’s also learnt that the film is extensively going to be shot in Australia.
Sonakshi miffed with Rakhi Sawant
Gossipmongers have suggested that the ‘Joker’ heroine Sonakshi Sinha is miffed with the drama queen Rakhi Sawant over the latter’s remarks on her fitness.
Sometime back, while interacting with the shutterbugs, Rakhi was quoted saying that she wished to suggest some workout tips to Sonakshi so that she could shed some kilos.
However, the motor mouth item girl’s comments didn’t go down well with Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter and she apparently swore not to talk to Rakhi in near future.
Speaking about Sonakshi and Rakhi’s tiff, a source revealed, “Sonakshi won’t react to someone like Rakhi but she is very upset with the way Rakhi maligned her.
“May be they would never come face to face ever because Sonakshi will never speak to her ever in her life.”

Shahrukh Khan ko gussa kyon aaya!

Shahrukh Khan has already been livid about the leaking of the song ‘Chamak Challo’ from Ra.One. So just imagine his anger when a leading jewellery brand played the song at the recently concluded India International Jewellery Week.

The song ‘Chamak Challo’ has been sung by Akon and filmed on Kareena Kapoor, the leading lady of Ra.One. A few months back, when the song was leaked on the internet, Shahrukh Khan couldn’t even do any damage control.Ra.One, his prized project, had been dealt the first blow, and he had to take it lying low.

Hardly had that anger subsided that a leading jewellery brand rubbed salt to the superstar’s wound by playing the song (officially unreleased yet) at a show at IIJW in Mumbai last week. Whoa!

No wonder, Shahrukh and the heads of the music record company T-Series are angry over the move and have slapped the jewellery brand with a legal notice demanding Rs. 2 crore as compensation.

Ra.One is slated to release in October and Shahrukh Khan is very protective about the film. He’s has even kept the look of the villain, played by Arjun Rampal, under wraps so far.

Shahrukh Khan nervous as Ra.One nears completion

He is one of the biggest and most financially successful stars in the history of Indian film industry. However, nobody can escape the pre release jitters, not even the Badshah of Bolllywood – Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh’s ambitious project ‘Ra.One’ has recently completed shooting and is in its post production stage. The film has already created a lot of hype because of its high production value, excellent special effects and the constant feeds about Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra’s special appearance. What is more, SRK has even roped in the famous American Senegalese singer Akon for the ‘Chammak Challo’ song.

But all said and done, Shahrukh is still nervous about the financial fate of his baby. Like any other producer or actor, Shahrukh too is biting his nails, thinking of the audience’s reaction to the film in which he has invested so much time and efforts. He recently posted on Twitter, “"Sorry been away for a bit. Been in dark rooms with light banter. post production Ra.One swinging as much as the ball in england tests. nervous...happy...elated...confused...all the feelings surround as the film reaches its final leg,"

Don’t you worry Shahrukh. We are sure all your fans are eagerly waiting for the release of ‘Ra.One’!!

Shahrukh Khan plans a 36-city tour to promote Ra.One

The jamboree just got bigger! There’s no stopping Shahrukh Khanas his Ra.One is approaching its release. King Khan is planning a 36-city tour to promote Ra.One in India and abroad. The star will have a month and a half long marketing gig for the film. That calls for a hurrah!

Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One is releasing this October and the actor is leaving no stone unturned for its promotion. His special 36-city tour will not only include cities in India but also abroad, and the main lead of the film Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal are also likely to join Shahrukh Khan for the events.

So, when is SRK going to start the big 36-city tour? The actor will start the promotions of the movie by the end of this month. As per reports, he is also expected to do a media and marketing blitz prior to the release. The music of the film is said to be awesome. We have already heard Chamak Challo byAkon, but its better version is expected to hit the airwaves first, and rest of the songs will be revealed later.

Shahrukh has also kept Arjun Rampal’s villain look under wraps. No doubt, Shahrukh Khan is literally on a roll trying to do as much he can for Ra.One.

Priyanka, Sanjay Dutt to play cameo roles in SRK’s ‘Ra.One’

The latest buzz surrounding Shahrukh’s pet project ‘Ra.One’ is that B-town’s desi girl Priyanka Chopra and the muscular hunk Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing cameo roles in the movie.
Apparently, the ‘Ra.One’ superhero Shahrukh Khan, who is leaving no stone unturned to make his superhero flick a hit with the moviegoers, has planned to incorporate some more action sequences in his flick.
As such, the superhero approached Piggy Chops, with whom he is bonding well these days, and Sanjay Dutt, whose well toned body for KJo’s ‘Agneepath’ had bowled him over, for making guest appearance in his project.
It’s learnt that Priyanka will be seen doing a “long-drawn romantic sequence” with Shahrukh in the film, which stars Kareena, her rival, as the lead actress.
Talking about Piggy Chops’s cameo role, a source close to the ‘Ra.One’ unit, was quoted by Mumbai Mirror, said, “It’s a long-drawn romantic sequence. It can be actually called a cameo by Priyanka. It will require her to perform a lot of stunts as well. RA.One is essentially a fantasy film, and this is sort of a sweet dream sequence.”
Shahrukh zeroed in Priyanka after consulting the ‘Ra.One’ director
While Shahrukh and Piggy Chops share a great rapport and have teamed up earlier also, the former zeroed in the latter for playing a cameo in his film only after consulting the ‘Ra.One’ director Anubhav Sinha.
A source revealed, “Shah Rukh is extremely comfortable working with Priyanka. Having worked in Don, Don 2 and an item number in Billu together, they share a great working rapport. However, he did consult Sinha before asking the actress.”
I want women to like ‘Ra.One’—Shahrukh
In a recent conversation with the DNA, Shahrukh got candid about his upcoming superhero flick and stated that he not only wanted boys and men to watch his film, but also girls and women to be a major part of the audience for ‘Ra.One’.
Urging everyone to watch his film, SRK articulated, “I hope little girls and women like it. I want women to like it (Ra.One). In fact I want this film to be a family entertainer, more than anything else.
“This movie unlike other super hero films which only click with boys. My film will be for everyone.”

Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One fetches Rs.350 million for TV rights

Shahrukh Khan’s superhero movie Ra.One has reportedly already made Rs.500 million from TV and music rights.

Ra.1 is produced by Gauri and Shahrukh Khan, and features SRK in a superhero avatar G.One. The hotly anticipated sci-fi flick is expected to be the biggest release at Diwali this year.

Per reports Star TV has agreed to part with Rs.350 million for the satellite TV rights of the film; Salman Khan’s Bodyguard, Ajay Devgn’s Singam and Ranbir Kapoor’s Rockstar are the other films that Star TV recently acquired the rights for.

T-Series has reportedly paid Rs.150 million for the exclusive music rights of the film, and with the Senegalese American R&B singer Akon signing the headlining item number Wanna be my chammak challo, the movie’s soundtrack seems a certain bet for T-Series. A version of the song was leaked online and became an instant hit; the Ra.One team claims that the final version is much better.

Shahrukh Khan is also adding another first for Ra.One as there will be an action-packed game based on the movie for the Playstation. The storyline for the game has been written by Shahrukh himself and he is also providing voice-overs for the title. SRK fans will be able to play the game as G.One or Ra.One.

Anushka Sharma in Shahrukh Khan - Katrina Kaif film?

YRF is set to bring together Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in a film. There is word that Anushka Sharma may also be cast in the movie.

Sources reveal that the second female lead in the film is a strong character, and a few days ago it was rumored that Kajol would be acting in the film. However, now sources reveal that the second lead in the film may indeed be Anushka Sharma, as the character needs to look younger than Katrina Kaif’s.

Anushka made her dream debut in Aditya Chopra’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and things have be go-go-go from there on. She has won both acclaim from critics and the audience, finding success with one film after the other.

This ‘yet to be titled’ film will mark the first directorial project Yash Chopra has undertaken since Veer Zaara in 2004, and if things pan out for Anushka, then this will not only mark her fifth time working with the YRF banner, but also make her the first actress to be directed by both father Yash and son Aditya Chopra.

There is no confirmation from YRF or Anushka about this development. The final casting of the yet untitled film remains to be announced. Nevertheless, this beauty from Bangalore is on her way to becoming the one of the most popular heroines.

Shahrukh-Salman face-off averted in IIFA Shahrukh to attend IIFA despite injury;

Shahrukh Khan has been limping from a knee injury lately. However, he’s not going to skip the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend in Toronto. On the other hand, Salman Khan has decided to skip the IIFA this year.

It could have been a clash of the titans in Toronto. Ignore the alliteration, but the coming together of the feuding Khans -- Shahrukh and Salman -- looked all but imminent until one of them decided to bow out.

Shahrukh Khan is excited about returning to IIFA after seven long years. Incidentally, he skipped the event all those years when Amitabh Bachchan was its brand ambassador. And now that Big B is not longer associated with the event, Shahrukh is going to attend it despite a knee injury.

“Preparing for iifa visit in toronto...on 24th meeting fans at sheraton...bollywood chick has full info...hope to see u all there..” Shahrukh wrote on his Twitter page. Earlier he had written about his knee injury: “nursing knee injury to get ready for iifa. wish toronto was closer to bandra. shiamk team making the dance steps easier for me...”

On the other hand, Salman Khan, who was the face of IIFA in Sri Lanka last year, has opted out. Whether it’s just a coincidence or a bid to avoid a face-off with Shahrukh, only Salman knows that. But the official reason is that salman is going to be busy shooting for his film ‘Bodyguard’?

“I am shooting for my next Bodyguard and it is an action movie, so yes, you people won't see me there (Toronto). IIFA will miss me this time,” Salman told reporters.

The IIFA weekend will be held from June 23 to 25.

King Khan Shah Rukh Khan has done it again!!

King Khan Shah Rukh Khan has done it again. The smart B-town super star known for his marketing techniques this time has got the entire industry taken by a pleasant surprise. On January he came with a full page ad in a leading newspaper announcing his arrival on Diwali with 'Ra.One'.
While most of the films do hardcore promotions only a few weeks from the release date, Shah Rukh Khan planned his moves of his upcoming promised blockbuster 'Ra.One' since January.
Four months before the release of the movie Shah Rukh Khan is doing things that the industry and the audience alike have never witnessed yet. SRK unveiled a one minute theatrical teaser last week and the promo is in high demand by all major cinema owners who want to play it all around.
Needless to add, the promo ahs sparked great expectations and everyone wants October to come faster.
Heavily loaded by special effects 'Ra.One' can easily be seems to be a Hollywood big sci-fi flick. Definitely King Khan Shahrukh has set the trend and with the promotions just started we can only say that 'picture abhi baki hai mere dost' (there's lots more to come my friend) and it can only go more bigger and better

'Swades 2' with SRK! Ashutosh Gowarikar plans to make a sequel

Ashutosh Gowarikar is all set to make a sequel of his critically acclaimed film ‘Swades’. According to the sources, Ashutosh is in talks to retain Shah Rukh Khan, who played Mohan Bhargava a NRI in the prequel.
“I am planning to make ‘Swades 2’ but it’s too early to talk about it,” said Gowarikar who denied to divulge more details about the story.
The sources also informed that though SRK is the first choice of the filmmaker, there shall be change as far as actress in the film is concerned. Gayatri Joshi was introduced opposite Khan in ‘Swades’ but since she has quit the industry after marriage, a new replacement is being considered.
Sources added that the story board is like a second chapter where Mohan Bhargava, the protagonist will be on a journey to set up basic amenities for another part of rural India.
The 200 odd minutes film ‘Swades’ which had a message for every Indian who desired to make his name abroad when his soil needed him the most is all set to move forward with a sequel which will show the NRI trying his best for the upliftment of his fellow Indian citizens.

Shahrukh Khan completes his autobiography

Shahrukh Khan’s tell-it-all story in his autobiography ‘Twenty Years In A Decade’

Here’s good news for the fans of Shahrukh Khan. Those who have been waiting to hear the tale of the superstar’s struggle and rise to fame will get to know it all in Shahrukh’s own words in his autobiography ‘Twenty Years In A Decade’.

Shahrukh Khan has been working on this book for about a decade and now the book is complete and ready for editing.

“I have written a book and its complete now. I will ask my writer friends to edit it so that I can release it. I have been writing it over last ten years. It is titled ‘Twenty Years In A Decade’ because I feel that in ten years I have lived a life of 20 years between 1991-2001. The book is about positivity, hope and it is also funny, just like me. I have written things about my life in the most fun way,” Shahrukh Khan is quoted as saying by a news agency.

For those who don’t know, 1991 is the year Shahrukh Khan entered Bollywood by acting in Raj Kanwar’s film Deewana which released in 1992 and went on to become a hit. Thereafter followed a slew of hit films that, over a decade, catapulted the bristle-haired dude of the telly serial Fauji to super stardom.

Though the autobiography chronicles Shahrukh’s struggle, he says his favourite chapter is about his parents.

“One of my favourite chapters in the book is which talks about my mother and father... which I completed in almost eight pages,” Shahrukh said.

The superstar also promises to reveal a lot of personal things in his autobiography.

“There are very personal things in it... though selective memories. Also, there is a chapter on journalism. I have also written about my personal things,” Shahrukh said.

Tired of action, Shahrukh Khan now wants to get romantic!

Shahrukh Khan built up his stardom with a slew of romantic roles but has lately been keeping away from what many believe to be his forté.

Jog your memory and try to recall the last time you saw Shahrukh Khan in a full-on romantic role! Em...!...Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi perhaps. But that was almost three years ago. Since then films like Billu Barber, Dulha Mil Gaya and My Name Is Khan have not sated the movie buff who wants to see Shahrukh epitomising romance on screen. And Shahrukh’s two coming films Ra.One and Don 2 too would have him doing kick-ass action, jumping from buildings, blowing up cars...anything but what sets the female fans go weak at the knees.

So quite obviously, Shahrukh Khan is now thinking of doing a full-fledged romantic movie again. Mind you, Shahrukh isn’t for playing a young college-going dude who woos the PYTs in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai style.

The 45-year-old actor says he wants to play his age and act in a mature love story, something that Bollywood isn’t really known to churn out. Majority of fans in India idolize their favourite actors as if they were never-aging demigods, facial lines notwithstanding. But Shahrukh Khan wants to change that.

“I want to do a mature love story. Or maybe even a comedy film now,” Shahrukh says.

A comedy is something we haven’t seen Shahrukh do in a long time. Om Shanti Om was his last shot at making us laugh.

Film media needs to balance its reporting: Shahrukh

Even though he shares a great rapport with the media, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is weary of how the media often twists his statements made in jest.
"My jokes, which are apparent, are blown out of proportion, and serious issues are trivialized," the actor said today.
"The live interactions with the media are great- I joke and reporters are aware of the fact when I am joking. But it takes on a different meaning when it comes out the next day. Comments and statements meant as jokes are taken seriously, and serious issues are trivialized. We need to find a balance," he said while launching Kanika Dhillon’s debut novel - Bombay Duck is a Fish (Westland)- here.
The actor said the entertainment media was running the risk being taken lightly by the public because of its sensationalistic journalism.
"I know it’s not just the reporters, there are editors along the chain before it comes out. But the film media- generally regarded as lightweight tabloid news- needs to invoke good reading and viewing for the media. Many writers in the film media are also serious writers," he said.
No one in Bollywood really has the time to bear grudges as everyone is too busy working, the actor explained. Clarifying recent media reports that he claimed to be the industry’s number one star, Khan said, "I had recently jokingly said my character G.One for my upcoming film Ra.One stood for my wife Gauri and my position as a star in the industry. It surprised me when my jokes were misconstructed in the media."

He said judging by the way the film media was desperately trying to create news of friction between stars, he might actually be tempted to start a new "fight".
"The differences I may have with others are old and the media are still trying to rake it up. I am not trying to be nice, I’m just a nice guy," he added.
